Looking for download manager in Linux? Do you like FlashGet very much? Now there is an alternative software for FlashGet. Its interface and how it works is really like FlashGet. So if you’re FlashGet user and want to change your OS to linux, you don’t have to worry about what download manager you will use.

It’s named MultiGet. MultiGet is an easy-to-use and open source file downloader for Windows / Linux / Mac OS X / BSD. Its interface is really like FlashGet. You can see from the screenshot below. MultiGet also support FTP,SOCKS4/5, and HTTP proxy. Unfortunately, MultiGet only support not more than 10 thread to download a file. But overall this application is worth to try.

As usual, i’ll tell you about how to install this program on your linux computer. First step, you must download the deb package from MultiGet download page and then type this command :

dpkg -i multiget_1.1.2-0getdeb1_i386.deb

or maybe you want to download its source from MultiGet download page and follow my tutorial to install MultiGet from source.
